As a founding partner of CV International Communications, Rob brings more than 20 years of experience in consumer and B2B marketing, PR, crisis communications and government/public affairs. His clients include Fortune 500 companies, national nonprofit charities, international associations and foreign governments including Japan, the United Arab Emirates and Senegal. He has managed more than 20 Congressional testimony opportunities for clients along with other government-awareness events and press conferences targeting Capitol Hill decision makers.
Rob has implemented more than 15 successful company/product launches on six continents, most notably introducing the China America Electronics Corporation — one of the 100 largest companies in China — to the U.S. market. He has developed and managed messaging for a variety of associations including The National Association of Broadcasters, the National Beer Wholesalers Association, the Electronic Industries Alliance and the Helicopter Association International. Among his career highlights is the creation of a proprietary data-focused PR campaign for publicly traded CoreLogic that generated positive PR for more than a decade.

Lori is a seasoned, senior-level marketing, PR and brand strategist with expertise in creating and implementing results-driven initiatives across paid, earned, shared and owned channels. She has extensive experience building brand equity and managing communications for companies across multiple sectors including financial, data/analytics, hospitality, consumer and entertainment. Lori combines expert strategy development, on-brand content and creative idea generation with spot-on tactical execution for exemplary results.
She is skilled in developing customized messaging and strategies for robust, multi-layered PR campaigns that have generated thousands of earned-media placements.
Lori has created and managed expansive data-driven publicity campaigns to provide evergreen PR for both private and publicly held companies. Her experience includes working with top-tier business, consumer, financial and international media and managing client coverage on 60 Minutes, CNN, NBC Nightly News, the Today show and numerous feature stories in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Fortune and NHK World, Japan’s national public broadcasting service, to name just a few.

Joe brings a wealth of marketing, communications and new media experience to CVIC where he currently serves as Vice President of the San Francisco office. Joe brings the ability to tell our clients’ stories through traditional video and social mediums.
Prior to joining CVIC, Joe founded Omega Productions, an award-winning film, video production and communications company to create high impact film and video productions. His new media and marketing campaign work has benefitted the Stanford Business School, Apple, Levi Strauss, GAP, Oracle, SONY and The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
In the 1990s during the early expansion of the Web, Joe worked in the epicenter of Silicon Valley, counseling numerous technology companies on the importance of emotional impact in communications, particularly as the Internet provided an increasing glut of raw information.
Joe is the recipient of many industry awards including a Gold Cindy, First Place/National Education Film Festival, 5 CINE Golden Eagles, the Telly Award, the NY Film Festival World Medal and a Joey Award for corporate training.
For more than two decades John McConnico has developed award-winning creative strategies, advertising campaigns, identity systems, and products for Fortune 50 companies such as Apple, Sony, and NBC—as well as mentoring early stage and mid-growth startups. His areas of expertise include Visual Design, Art Direction, Creative & Brand Strategy, Product Development, and User Experience for web & broadcast media, applications, and products. This range of experience informs his “holistic” approach to creative development, helping clients to implement strategies & systems that connect and engage all areas of an organization—senior leadership, operations, engineering, and marketing. As a creative thought leader he has also developed innovative technical solutions for leading companies that have resulted in long-term recognition and U.S. patents. He works in the San Francisco Bay Area office and manages all hands-on creative projects for CVIC clients worldwide.
John excels in crafting sustainable creative solutions that stand the test of time.
Laurel Bowman is a media relations, video and storytelling specialist at CVIC. She has deep contacts in the television, radio, print and digital journalism worlds. Laurel has secured interviews for CVIC’s clients with international, national and local mainstream media outlets including CNN, NBC, CNBC, CBS, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Reuters, Bloomberg, the Washington Post, Fast Company, the Guardian, the Financial Times and the BBC to name a few. She inked a television series development deal with Discovery Productions for one client, and she has secured pitch opportunities for clients with documentary executive producers at both National Geographic and NOVA (PBS). Laurel is an expert at creating video content and works with clients to tell their strongest stories via this medium for the web, social media, conferences, board meetings and the like.
Laurel also conducts media training. She has coached clients on how to prepare for and execute interviews, clearly outlining everything from delivering the perfect on-message sound bite or quote to choosing what to wear. She has taught clients how to shoot video using small cameras, including the iPhone.
Prior to joining CVIC, Laurel was a news anchor and reporter for the Voice of America (VOA), a Washington, D.C.-based international news agency which reaches more than 200 million news consumers worldwide. Prior to that, she served as a producer for NBC News. Her work has also appeared on the BBC, National Geographic, PBS, Associated Press Television News (APTN) and CNBC.
Throughout her career, she has reported and consulted overseas, with a strong focus on Africa and Asia.
Laurie Laird has spent more than two decades covering financial markets, and brings a wealth of contacts developed while reporting from New York, London, Moscow and Hong Kong. Laurie helped launched CNBC’s Asian network and has been a regular contributor to BBC World Service Television and BBC London radio. She thrives in a fast-moving environment and has shown great skill in distilling breaking events into a digestible print or broadcast format.
She is also experienced in developing African media strategies, serving as business editor and correspondent for Nigeria-based Arise News. Now based in London, Laurie has also written regular financial columns for The Daily Mail, The Guardian, City A.M., and the Financial Wire Service, Market News International.
